How YAG Lasers Work
YAG lasers are safe for all skin types and have been especially a game changer when it comes to ethnic skin. Many years ago, there weren’t lasers available to safely treat darker skin types and various ethnicity. The YAG laser has proven effective for lighter and darker skin types. This laser is able to safely differentiate skin’s natural pigment vs. the pigmentation of hair.
The laser emits light energy to damage hair follicles without damaging the surrounding skin. We also offer alexandrite laser setting which is only safe for lighter skin tones. All hair is not to be treated the same. A certified laser technician should be highly skilled in choosing settings that will treat fine hair vs coarse hair, darker brown vs lighter brow hair, and lighter skin tones vs darker skin tones. For the most safe and effective results we must differentiate your hair type, your skins response to the heat energy from laser etc.

Laser Genesis
Another popular laser treatment offered at Pure Bliss Med Spa is Laser Genesis. Laser Genesis is a non-ablative laser and non-invasive procedure safe for all skin types and is one of the most versatile laser treatments currently on the market. Laser Genesis uses the energy of laser light to heat up the skin and stimulate skin rejuvenation and skin renewal. Laser Genesis treats redness, inflammation, acne, scars and hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, irregular skin texture.
Laser genesis promotes stimulation of collagen and elastin. Collagen gives plumpness to the skin, promotes strength and firmness to the skin and a smoother texture. It is vital for anti-aging by keeping the skin youthful, full, and healthy. Collagen growth improves skins texture and minimizes skin irregularities.
Elastin is imperative to keeping the skin tight and youthful appearing. Elastin helps our skin to be able to stretch and then snap back into place. Laser Genesis also targets tiny vessels and capillaries breaking down vessels and making them less noticeable and reducing overall redness.
Intense Pulse Light (IPL)
IPL, also known as intense pulsed light therapy is a popular treatment for dark spots and redness. IPL reverses visible signs of again, sun exposure, skin irregularities, and discoloration. IPL uses light energy in multiple wavelengths to target irregularities in skin pigment and improves the color and texture of skin. The light energy heats up hyper-pigmented areas and damages the melanocytes or vessels and capillaries in that area. IPL is not safe for all skin types and can only be used in lighter skin tones such as Fitzpatrick 1 & 2. IPL should also be used with caution when treating conditions such as melasma or individuals prone to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Laser Vein Therapy
Laser Vein therapy is another extremely beneficial treatment used to target prominent veins. In laser vein therapy, the goal is to irritate and damage veins forcing them to shrink or close to reduce visibility. The blood is then naturally rerouted to other veins.
Laser vein therapy uses a thin beam of laser light to veins to damage the vessel and cause the vein to shrink and become less noticeable. Varicose veins are large, bulging veins. For smaller veins laser can be the ideal treatment, for larger veins we may suggest laser surgery.
