Microneedling uses a device with tiny sterile needles to precisely create “micro injuries” into the skin to create new collagen without the risk of scarring. The body responds to the “microinjuries” by releasing growth factors to promote skin repair. The growth factors stimulate new collagen and elastin, which improves skin tone and texture. This new collagen smoothes wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks, and reduces pore size. The skin becomes firmer and increases elasticity allowing it to look more youthful and plump with an enhanced glow.
At Pure Bliss we use an addition of hyaluronic acid serum and vitamin C serum to penetrate deep into the skin; increasing the benefits of microneedling. The process is minimally invasive and painless if used with a numbing cream. This procedure is normally preformed within 30-60 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated. The treatment can be performed on all parts of the body: face, neck, décolleté, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back.
We choose different depths of microneedling depending on what is being treated. If you choose the treatment to tighten skin for younger more vibrant looking skin, the depth of microneedling is less aggressive with shorter down time. Skin will be red, much like sunburn. You may also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on the area being treated. This will significantly diminish after a few hours following treatment and within the next 24 hours your skin will be completely healed. After 2 days there is barely any evidence that the procedure took place.
If you choose the more aggressive medical treatment, you should expect 3-4 days of downtime. This treatment is where we target the tiny fine lines on your face to reduce wrinkles, sunspots, and acne scarring. More down time is required for this treatment. You may wear mineral makeup by the 2nd day if you choose. Although most people are only mildly red after day 2 please allow up to 5-7 days for a medical microneedling treatment.
With minimal discomfort and very little downtime, microneedling may be just the treatment you are looking for.
