PURE BLISS MED SPA / MARCH 17, 2023 / COSMETIC, FACE

The moment we’ve all been waiting for, Spring! It is finally here! As the days begin to get warm it’s time to start thinking about preparing your skin for the summer! Spring is the perfect season to do so by boosting your skin’s hydration levels and moisture barrier that may have been damaged during the colder months.

With cooler temperatures, less humidity, and reduced sunshine your skin becomes more vulnerable. This is why considering tailored skincare treatments will help reserve specific concerns.

Here at Pure Bliss Med Spa, Atlanta’s Premier Med Spa in the Sandy Springs area, we offer the best corrective treatments from Microneedling to Hydration facials. Read on to find out more about these treatments and skincare products that are perfect for the spring weather.

1.   Hydrafacials

Hydrafacial is a soothing non-invasive treatment that helps deeply exfoliate and hydrate the skin while delivering acne-fighting and anti-aging solutions directly into the pores. This refreshing facial is both corrective and preventative due to its innovative patented technology and selection of powerful serums. Hydrafacial is a great treatment for the spring due to its help in replenishing the moisture barrier. It helps restore hydration levels within the skin that may have been stripped during the fall and winter.

Here at Pure Bliss, we offer three different types of Hydrafacials:

Hydrafacial

Our Hydrafacial Treatment is a 30-minute session providing the results of an hour-long facial leaving your skin glowing like never before. This hydrafacial option will include a deep cleanse, exfoliation, extractions, and hydration to finish.

Hydrafacial Deluxe

Our hydrafacial Deluxe is the next best thing for correcting your skin’s key concerns. This treatment will include a deep cleanse, exfoliation, extractions, a serum booster of your aesthetician’s choice, LED light therapy, and hydration to finish. Each added modality can be substituted for one of your choices, such as dermaplaning.

Platinum Hydrafacial

Our Platinum Hydrafacial Treatment is our most advanced selection using the Hydrafacial MD machine. This anti-aging treatment is great for reducing inflammation and excess fluids by adding cupping for lymphatic drainage. The treatment will also include a deep cleanse, exfoliation, and extractions.

2.   Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure for your skin. Your aesthetician uses a special instrument – a butter blade – to remove away the uppermost layers of your skin and vellus hairs. Dermaplaning can help reduce the appearance of scars, uneven texture, and/or other skin imperfections by revealing newer, undamaged skin. It can also make your skin look younger; though, it doesn’t stop the aging process. Some people also get dermaplaning for hair removal, but this is only a temporary fix because your hair will grow back. However, as many may presume, it does not grow back thicker.

Dermaplaning is a great service to add to your treatment plan leading up to the summer to help with better product penetration into the skin. Better product penetration leads to better skincare results. Also, a key benefit is a smoother, even skin texture.

3.   Light Chemical Peels

Light peels are very simple and easy treatments. These peel solutions are known to gently exfoliate the surface of the skin, dissolving dead skin cells that may be tougher to remove from your home care exfoliation. Although they do not result in peeling like the more advanced chemical peels, they can help healthy skin cells rise to the surface. This allows deep layers of new skin to be revealed. Normally there is little to no downtime, sometimes slight flaking, but the sensation you feel during goes away minutes after the peel is removed.

Light chemical peel treatments can help to clear acne, improve fine lines and wrinkles, and they can also help healthy skin cells rise to the surface. This allows deep layers of new skin to be revealed. Normally there is little to no downtime, sometimes slight flaking, but the sensation you feel during the process goes away minutes after the peel is removed. The result of consistent light chemical peel treatments can help to clear acne, improve fine lines and wrinkles, lighten hyperpigmentation, and give the skin a healthy glow.

Unlike Advanced Chemical Peels, light chemical peels are more beneficial to be applied during the spring and summer. Light chemical peels are a milder option, (more superficial) when considering getting a chemical peel. They can normally be applied throughout all seasons, and they can cause slight sun sensitivity to the skin but are not as aggressive as a medium to advanced chemical peels. So, if you’re looking for deep but gentle exfoliation, a light chemical is a great option!

4.   Microneedling or PRP Treatments

With spring being the season for deep skin rejuvenation, what better time than now to explore the benefits of Microneedling and PRP Treatments? Microneedling is a treatment that creates thousands of tiny wounds on the surface of the skin – reaching the dermis. This result actually stimulates the body’s natural wound-healing process, inducing the production of collagen to help repair the wounded areas. As the skin heals the result is brighter, more supple, even, and smoother skin than before. PRP Treatments undergo the same process with the addition of pushing your very own plasma-rich platelets back into your skin with a microneedling pen.

Microneedling and PRP Treatments are great options for skin rejuvenation during the spring season. Keep in mind that your skin will be slightly sensitive to the sun for a few days, but these treatments are safe enough to get before the summer. In addition, there is little to no downtime – just slight redness or a flushed appearance for a day or two, so you do still want to be extremely cautious of your sun exposure post-procedure. Other than that, enjoy your renewed skin!

If you struggle with Enlarged Pores, Fine Lines and Wrinkles, Texture, or Acne Scarring concerns, then Microneedling or PRP is the treatment for you at Pure Bliss Med Spa in the Atlanta Area.

5.   Laser Needling

Laser Needling is a corrective treatment that uses both Laser Genesis and Microneedling to help restore the skin’s complexion and overall texture. The combined treatments use similar approaches – to damage the surface of the skin to begin its natural healing response and stimulation of collagen and elastin production. This eventually leads to rejuvenated youthful skin. In addition, our heat-based laser treatment and microneedling procedure require no downtime other than the face appearing red or pink making them a great pair.

Considering that spring sun exposure is not as extreme as in summer, laser treatments are a great option for this season – especially for a treatment like Laser Needling which combines two skin-sensitizing procedures into one. Not spending as much time in the hot sun helps to speed up the healing process and ensures that your results will last longer than anticipated – leaving you with glowing skin.

Laser Needling is better than the traditional Microneedling treatment because it is able to treat multiple concerns like Post Inflammatory Erythema, Hyperpigmentation, Skin Pitting, Redness, Melasma, Sun Spots, Age Spots, and many more concerns. Laser Needling is accessible to anyone who wants healthier happier skin.

Skincare Product Swaps

Now that spring is here, it’s time for some spring cleaning or rather – spring swapping! It’s time to start swapping out your products for ones that have ingredients that are perfect for this season.

Cleanser

Cream cleansers were great for the cooler months due to the lack of moisture in the air. Now it’s time to switch back to a gel cleanser to help balance your oil production which will be more stimulated by the warmth.

Exfoliator

Gentle exfoliators are recommended for the spring and summer to avoid any irritation and sensitizing to the skin. Some that we suggest are enzymes or AHAs, such as glycolic acid, lactic acid, or mandelic acid.

Moisturizer

Switching to a lighter moisturizer is more practical in the spring and summer months. Preferably water-based moisture that will also help balance oil production that typically increases in this season.

Sunscreen

No swapping out is required. Sunscreen should be worn all year long, but especially in the months when the days are longer, the sun shines brighter and you’re more inclined to be outdoors. Be sure to wear your sunscreen!

Now that you have all of the details on what we think are the best treatments for the spring and summer seasons, you may find that some if not all have piqued your interest. If so, now is the perfect time to book!
